Perception Value

Perception is being or becoming aware through our senses.

We are often told, particularly around hardship, to be positive, just change our mindset, choose to be happy, as if we are mechanical light switches that turn on and shine bright, just like that. As I am sure you agree, we are not light switches and these epithets are unrealistic and even damaging. They teach us to push down our emotions for the instant gratification of what we have come to culturally accept and prioritize as “feeling good,” or even being more “in control.” Quite the contrary, this conditioning has not allowed us to sit with our emotions to develop practices of awareness for the things that arise in our consciousness and hearts, and to see these “darker moments,” as necessary lessons and important information of who you are, how you engage with the world, all you are deserving of, and what gifts have been naturally bestowed on you—your value.

It is through this perception of self, the witnessing of how you feel because of your perception, the process of becoming aware through our senses (your experiences of all that is around you) that we are able to step into to a more connected vantage point. From there you can see the shift toward your lightness (but only because you have fully been in the dark). To begin to perceive in this way can start with asking yourself foundational questions. We all have negative thought patterns or actions that seem to reemerge for us in anxious moments, whatever that may be, when they arise, practice asking, how am I feeling? If you want to take it one step further, ask, where is that feeling coming from? We could keep going, but start there. These questions may seem rudimentary, but as we generally were not taught to sit with ourselves and in our discomfort, it is through foundational thinking that we relearn and reframe our misidentified relationship to anxiety, and we start to practice more kindness toward ourselves, and from there, toward others.

This process of relearning asks that you allow things to die, those thoughts, experiences, relationships that are not serving you and the narrative you want to carry forward. Allow this to happen. When you do, you can make space for what enriches you. When you become an empty vessel, your channel can be filled. And when you become a channel, you become in service of others, which is when you realize who you are is the gift—your gift— your true value—your inherent value. When we experience these deaths and come closer to death, we invite rebirth, new possibilities, which is a loving risk (opportunity) toward expansion.

This true observance of self and your value can only come from fully going through the process of perceiving yourself—being or becoming aware of your senses. It is when we can perceive ourselves with connected clarity that we know our value. This is why BrandHuman teaches this lesson to individuals, brand, and business, by asking them to evaluate all points of their perception (both of themselves and others). The sensory experience you transmit attracts and ensures the connections you make (what is in alignment with you). If what you transmit is truthful, connected, and an open channel, then your value will be in service. This service starts with the relationship to yourself, so talk to yourself with kindness—it will impact everything.

And it is impacting everything, in this moment, we are seeing collective shifts toward survival of the conscious, kind, righteous, beyond ego, and even the divine feminine. Work to make these shifts in yourself and you will not only survive, but build sustainable ways to thrive. Be in service of providing value that allows for clear pathways of perception—let the doors to your soul open.
