Book of Self

As the writer of your own narrative, you have the power to define what you carry forward, what you offer to the world. You are the keeper of all parts of yourself, you are the channel through which this narrative is told, you are the writer of your Book of Self. What will you do with this power?

The stories you tell yourself become your reality. All parts of you make up the multifaceted person that you are, no one part is defining of your whole being. In moments of tension and distress, we tend to feel that our overwhelming emotions are who we are, that this moment is our whole story, but those emotions and this moment are only a part of you. They are only a part of your story. Plus, stories without hardship were never very interesting anyway.

If this test is your testimony, how will you rise to meet the challenge of this moment? What will this chapter of your book say? What will be written?

As we look to our current and future economy, you must be flexible to the rapid changes—to the unknowns. You can build this flexibility by honoring all parts of your brilliance and potential—there is no longer the need to be one thing nor have one offering, be multi-layered in how you serve. To serve in this way will ask you to tap into your truest gifts and your creative source, think and find inspiration from an interdisciplinary lens. To be connected to self in this way is to allow your expression to flow through you—you are a channel. You are the source, so protect this sacred self—honor what nourishes you. Love thy self. Do things and consume things that nourish you. They become your output. This is true for brands and business too.

If our offerings (or shall we call them gifts?) are expressions of self, which are cultivated by our relationship to our experiences, which over time make up our narratives, they fill the pages of our Book of Self. Choose your words wisely.
